As most of you know, I try to visit London once or twice a month to stay with my boyfriend James who lives down there. It can be exhausting travelling so often (and London’s expensive) but it has many benefits, including that I get to spend time with my best blogging buddies Laila and Bel. Last weekend, Laila organised a second blogger brunch (nicknamed “#lailabrunch“) and I was so excited to be able to go! I almost never go to blog events and since moving to Edinburgh I’ve not met any new bloggers (asides from the lovely Lucie who I was introduced to a couple of weeks ago.) We met up at the Hive Wellbeing on Cambridge Heath Road for brunch, coffee and cake. The food was actually lovely (despite their smoothies costing a whopping £7) and we were sat next to a nice big window, perfect for food photos. We slowly trickled from brunch to the pub, which was followed pre-drinks and ring of fire and then dancing in Dalston. My first night in a club in a year! Although it was technically a room in the back of a pub, so I’m not sure it really counts.
I ordered the hummus and tempeh sandwich, with coconut ice cream for dessert. The ice cream was divine! All the cakes and puddings were vegan which was pretty sweet (geddit?) and I’ve also shared a snap of Holly’s coconut citrus cheesecake. It was awesome spending so much time just chilling out, eating, drinking and talking about blog stuff, amongst other things. I loooove talking about the internet but none of my IRL friends up in Scotland blog so I have to make the most of it when I’m with my online buddies.
I have to say it was a bit weird being in London and spending so much time away from James. By the time I’d returned to his flat on Sunday afternoon (there’s no way I was going to fork out £££ for a late night taxi and I couldn’t face the night bus… bring on the 24hr tube!) it was nearly time to go home and I felt like I’d barely seen him. Most of the time I can cope with the distance but right now I’m counting down the days until he moves up for summer.
Thanks to these mega babes for a wonderful weekend: Laila, Bel, Holly, Fii, Lucie, Jessica, Cherie, Victoria, Gemma, Emily and Tee. I hope to see you all again soon!
Ugh Jess you are so cool I kind of hate you (but not really cause I think you’re super cool and super pretty and I stared at you and Holly during lunch A LOT totally not weird eh) and I’m so glad we talked – even though Vicky and I had to rush off in the end! Please come visit more often, would be so cool to hang out altogether again
also loved reading your Pergola and Hill outfit post, how dreamy~ I’ve been wanting to go for ages too but still haven’t had a chance…
Ahw Cherie, you are such a cutie pie! It was awesome to meet you and I hope we get to spend time together again soon. Bring on Blogger Brunch #3! You should definitely head to Pergola and Hill if you get the chance, especially during golden hour. It’s a magical place! xx
Oh so fun! None of my IRL friends blog (at least about lifestyle type stuff) either. I have met up with two bloggers on my travels now, both times were really nice. I would love to find more bloggers in my area though!
This looks like a blast and the food sounds delicious!
Hope you guys don’t have to do long distance too much longer!

None of my original IRL friends blog either, so it was really cool to be able to make friends with other girls who do! I think non-bloggers get tired of being around us because we’re just so excited to be able to talk about internet-stuff that’s all we talk about. The food was really yummy. Looks like it’s going to be long distance for a while longer, but I’m super happy James gets to spend summer in Edinburgh with me! xx
Ah this looked like such fun and SO many of my faves were there omg! Dying to go to the next one <3

Isn’t it! I told Bel she looked like Elmer the elephant in that blouse and she didn’t know what I was talking about, so I bought her the book. It’s just a coincidence that she was wearing it again when I gave the Elmer book to her
ahh, this sounds and looks so so lovely! xx
It was such a great day! It’s a shame you don’t live closer…
Oh poor James!!! At least you’ll have most of the summer together without us lot draining your time haha. It was so lovely to see you Jess, and you’ve got a lot better photos than I have :S xxx
Thanks so much for organising this Laila, it was a lovely day and I’m so happy I got to meet so many cool new people! Ahw, James will be alright, he has a whole 3 months to spend as much time with me as he likes xx
Look at you lovely ladies! Wish I could have been there…
