This is one of those outfits that I put together around my lipstick, because I knew I wanted to go for it with the blue-on-blue. I’m not brilliant at photographing make-up – there’s something about being too close to my face that I think makes it look weird – but it’s the most gorgeous metallic midnight shade and matches my skirt almost perfectly. I picked up the skirt at a clothes swap event and it’s really unusual, which I like. I’m not going to lie, I do end up flashing a little when I walk, but what are floor length jackets for if not to cover up an occasional wardrobe malfunction? The jacket is actually a 1970s velvet dressing gown that I found in a charity shop, but it’s an ideal outside layer for chilly Scotland. Thank you Courtney Love, for giving us underwear as outerwear, a trend that I’ve always appreciated. Shopping in the pyjama / lingerie section is one of my favourite tricks for finding cheap and interesting vintage! Throw on a roll neck top under a pretty slip and you’re good to go.

These photos were shot on a bloody lovely Sunday walk last month. James and I had made lots of plans for the weekend, before realising that his train tickets were booked for early on Sunday morning. James changed his tickets at the last minute so he could be in Edinburgh for an extra day and we got to follow through with all our plans! We ventured to Stockbridge Market to pick up some vegan cheese from Nutcrafter Creamery. I had heard a lot about them, but never had the opportunity to taste test their cheese before. It was everything I had dreamed of and more! Pricey, but so creamy and tangy, with an impressive selection of flavours – they do a tonne of free tasters too, if you’re ever in the area ;). We walked along the water of Leith to Dean’s Village – this dreamy ancient part of the city. Honestly, it feels as much like a fairy tale in real life as in pictures. I love the layers of architecture in Edinburgh and the waterway is a great vantage point to admire them. This photography session was promptly followed by a taste test of the new vegan burger in Burger., lots of X Files, and an apple and mustard root veg casserole for dinner. Perfect Sunday.
You look stunning
You look stunning!!! Your posts are always a delight for the eyes xx
Gorgeous!
This location is absolutely fabulous as is this outfit! Love the contrast of the dark blues in your outfit and that brightly pained yellow building!

Thank you! There’s not a lot of colour in Edinburgh, so I’m really pleased I found this beautiful gem of a yellow house.
