When I was in London last month, Bel and I popped into Rokit on a Thursday evening for their Autumn / Winter preview. The Brick Lane shop is quite small but they’ve certainly managed to squeeze a lot of vintage goodness in there! Fashion at this time of year incorporates everything I love – faux fur, velvet, faux suede, sequins and sparkles. I love winter dressing and the Christmas “holiday outfit” campaigns always get to me. I’m usually pretty good at resisting the temptation to spend all of my pay check in high street shops that are unlikely to be ethical or sustainable, but the lure of the sequin party dress is sometimes too much. There were plenty of sparkly Christmas dresses in Rokit to satisfy a glitter craving, and the fact that it’s vintage means it’s a much more sustainable way of shopping.
I didn’t end up buying anything because the things I loved (just look at that perfect leopard print coat!) were over budget for me. Rokit can be pricey for second hand clothes, but you’re paying to be able shop a beautifully curated collection. They had created themed sections of the shop, from “Disco” to “Fun Fur” and “Goth Femme” and have a wonderful collection of 1970s coats and jumpers. It’s the sort of place you can visit and know that you’ll find something you want to buy – which is not a luxury you can enjoy when you’re treasure hunting in car boots, charity shops or second hand bargain stores! I also loved their new upcycled collection – this furry denim jacket, crochet skirts and cropped knit jumpers have been created from old clothes needing a bit of tlc. I had a great time browsing the treasure trove of winter clothes and it’s certainly got me excited about dressing up for party season!
I love Rokit- those carefully picked out vintage shops are so nice to wander around. There looks so really dreamy farms hidden in there

Such a shame about the price because all the items look fantastic! Gosh, I’d love to browse through Rokit one day!

There’s a leopard print coat fairly similar to this in the window of British Heart Foundation’s window today, if you’re still interested

LOOK AT YOU TWO STUNNING GIRLIES. That denim jacket with furry hearts is AMAZING and also totally DIY-able (is that a word?) xx
