This set of photos is my first attempt in a long time to take photos in direct sunlight. Some bloggers manage to do it beautifully, but it’s harder than it looks! I borrowed my Dad’s new second hand DSLR to take these and I love it. With my new job I should be able to invest in a camera upgrade in the next couple of months and I’m so excited! I feel like I’m the only blogger that still uses a regular point and shoot camera these days. Anyway, I put together this outfit to show off my sequin trousers. They were a surprise gift from James (best boyfriend ever!) after I’d pointed them out to him in the ASOS sale. High waisted sequin flares – what more can you ask for in a pair of trousers? They’re pretty out there but I’ve worn them a lot already. If I wasn’t always the most overdressed before, I certainly am now! As I was heading out the door I realised these silly sunglasses that I made a couple of years ago would go perfectly. When my mum looked up and saw me wearing them she laughed, which wasn’t really the reaction that I was hoping for.

The day that thee photos were taken I was staying at home in Leicestershire and it was gorgeously sunny. Edinburgh at the moment is pretty miserable. I’m so stereotypically British for always talking about the weather on my blog, but I would like to experience spring sometime soon please. I have a couple of new pairs of cute shorts and it would be a tragedy if I didn’t get to wear them this year!
Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh oh goodness, those pants have left the biggest stars in my eyes! Direct sunlight can be way hard to work with for sure, but I think you made it work wonderfully.
Bling bonanza! Loving it on you! : D
And so true, talking about the weather – but, but it’s such a PERFECT subject : P
Lovely sunshine… and the reflection off that bling! xx
Your mother’s reaction made me laugh, too–moms have a way of bringing us back down to earth, don’t they?!
