Having a meal on New Years at this gorgeous restaurant called Tapa, in Leith. I was going for a vampy look I think!
Exploring – this is Deans village in Edinburgh. One of the things I love most about the city is the layers of streets and buildings that sit on top of each other.
Exploring Leith Walk with my friend Tori on her birthday.
The view of Edinburgh Castle from the Elephant House Cafe is so pretty. I had lunch with my family here whilst they were staying over New Years.
A surprise Birthday party! Featuring lots of vegan / gluten free cake.
I realised whilst writing this post that this is the 13th monthly review that I’ve written. You can read what I was up to last January here. It’s really fun to be able to compare the different things that I’ve been doing from year to year! I really enjoy writing this blog series, and I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading it.
This January has felt really long. New Years was only five weeks ago but it feels like months ago! I began January at the top of the crags next to Arthur’s seat, watching the fireworks with James and my mum. It was a difficult climb (especially in my velvet maxi dress…) but I’m so glad we did it because the view was spectacular. I started back at uni about four weeks ago, and I’m now (mostly) back in my regular routine of classes and study days. I’ve been making the most of this time before deadlines hit to explore Edinburgh a little bit and hang out with my friends. I was in London last weekend to visit James, my uni friends Amy and James, and the lovely Bel and Laila. I had fun, but I also managed not to take any pictures!
This month on the blog I wrote a review of the whole of last year! (It’s a long one…) I shared an outfit post in my favourite velvet bell bottoms, showed you how to make the best nut roast ever, experimented with making things from Sugru and interviewed Laila from Tape Parade. My favourite post is probably this photo set I shared, including images I took walking around my home village in the snow as the sun was setting.
February is proving to be cold so far! I’m looking forward to longer days and the first signs of spring. I’m not really looking forward to the inevitable arrival of deadlines, my dissertation, or the feared post-graduation job hunt! I hope your month is shaping up nicely
Sounds lovely! I love Edinburgh, it’s such a great place – we’ve actually just booked to go for the weekend of our wedding anniversary
What a fab month! It looks like you had lots of fun exploring and letting out your inner vamp (you look seriously hot in that photo!) Edinburgh looks like such an amazing, beautiful place, I’ve said for so long that I want to visit, this just makes me want to even more! I hope February is just a good a month for you!

I am loving the architecture in the second photo! Looking forward to spring too, I have had enough of this cold.
This makes me really wanna explore Leith someday!
You should! It feels so far away from Edinburgh sometimes but there’s some pretty cool stuff in Leith and I did a food table there a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at how friendly and welcoming people were compared to the city centre.
I’m in love with this serie, it’s sooo lovely aswell as the pictures! Edinburgh looks amazing, and I’ll hopefully get to it sometime soon to see it in ‘real life’ aswell:)
Have a nice day!
