I’m moving to Edinburgh this week and so I think it’s the perfect time to share some of my favourite home decor images with you! I’ve been looking at these (and a whole lot more on my pinterest and tumblr!) to gather inspiration for when I come to decorate my new flat. The floors and tiles are new and the walls have been freshly painted by the previous owner so I can’t change those things, and we’ve bought most of the necessary pieces of furniture from the inexpensive antiques shops in Edinburgh (as well as a pink Ikea sofa!) The problem with actually living in a place is that you can’t spend months hunting for the perfect zany vintage pieces. Or at least if I did, I would have nowhere to sit for a couple of months. What I have at the moment is nice, good quality and wonderfully old but a little plain, so I plan to add a lot of finishing touches to turn it into a colourful bohemian paradise! Or something like that.

Looking through these images you might guess that I love peacock chairs, gallery walls, scatter cushions, Turkish rugs, houseplants and lots of texture on the walls. You would be correct! I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled at charity shops and car boots for all of the above and I’m so excited to fill up my new space with pretty things. I might even attempt a DIY or two.
Which is your favourite room? Is there a home decor style that you’re particularly drawn to?
P.s. Finding the correct source for images on pinterest and tumblr is extremely difficult. If I have linked any of the above images to the wrong source or you have any further information on them, please let me know!
Good luck with the move! I want an entire room full of plants like that one – how amazing is that! Love your blog, consider me your newest follower! <3

Am loving all the space in these piccies, as well as the light… so all those plants could survive! Might be tempted to do more with the late 20s-early 30s that I enjoy looking at… Love the city you’re moving to, although haven’t visited (sigh) … so far!
Have a happy move! xx del
Your taste is stunning! Everything looks cozy and unique!
I’ve been following your blog for long enough to have a good sense of your style–and these rooms look just like what I’d expect you to love! Have fun with the process of getting settled in your new place!
These rooms are so lovely. I have such an affinity for wall collages. I did one in our main room in our current apartment and I am still obsessed with it. I love how many ways you can make them look too. I love the touches of global and vintage in these rooms. So eclectic and fun. I look forward to seeing what ideas you use on your own place. These all look pretty! I’d love to see your decorating skills and if a peacock chair shows up in your new home
I love mixing new with second hand items.
All I want in a house is peacock chairs, a lot of plants and rugs. I hope you love Edinburgh! I will be looking for tips, my boyfriend has moved down to Edinburgh so I need things to drag him to!
