An essential part of any Halloween party is curating a killer playlist. I often organise the Halloween festivities for my group of friends (duh, nobody else is quite as obsessively spooky as me) so I’m usually in charge of the music. It’s annoying having to listen to the same songs every year but I confess to adding some traditional cheesy party tunes. Is it really Halloween if Michael Jackson’s Thriller isn’t playing in the background?! Probably not. My music taste is pretty downbeat, so I’ve vetoed anything too melancholy. I don’t want to kill the party atmosphere, which *ahem* seems to happen anytime I queue my favourite songs. Sorry friends. This time of year always has me listening to some good old fashioned gloomy 80s music. Hello The Cure! It’s probably because October is so nostalgic for me – the sound of Robert Smith and The Smashing Pumpkins are inextricable from memories of planning Halloween costumes as a teenager. What music do you listen to at this time of year? What would you add to your Halloween playlist?
You can listen on Spotify if you like to do that sort of thing!
