February was a pretty fun month! My uni workload increased after a relatively slow start of the semester. My family came to stay with me and we watched the Rugby in Murrayfield, which was awesome. Wales won, yippee! Even though I live in Scotland at the moment, I’ve always supported Wales because my Dad is from Wales. They’re pretty into their rugby, and they have the best flag in the world! My family follow the rugby but I’m not generally a sports fan, so this way my first big Rugby match (I’ve seen my brother play at school but I’m not sure that counts…) It was exciting but a lot less hectic that I was expecting, which was nice!
Innovative Learning Week (it’s basically a reading week) happened in February which was a welcome break from my usual schedule. James and I went on a Philosophy walking tour when he was in Edinburgh to see all the places Hume, Adam Smith and Dugald Stewart liked to hang out. I ended February with my monthly trip to London – James and I watched a lot of Twin Peaks, and I had a much needed, soul affirming catch up with friends. I’m currently deciding whether I want to live in Edinburgh or London next year when I graduate. I plan to apply for jobs in both cities and let fate decide, but I’m not sure which option I prefer. London has the obvious advantage of being the place where my boyfriend and the majority of my friends live, but I love my flat here in Edinburgh and I prefer the city. It’s strange having no idea where I’ll be living in September!
I only actually wrote one blog post in February – I’m being a sassy goth - but I don’t know, life has been busy and there hasn’t been a lot of daylight hours and I’ve just been posting when I feel like it, rather than sticking to a schedule like I did before.
March is proving to be hectic already. I took an ecology class this semester because I wanted to learn something new, and I thought it would be good for me. It turns out I’ve forgotten all of the science I learned at school, and I’m not very good at ecology! It’s a challenge and I have seven deadlines before Easter… SEVEN! Send me coffee and moral support please, I’m going to need it.
